Grey Hairs and crazy nightlifes...

Found My first grey hair today. Well, okay, technically it's a white hair. Am undecided; should I pull it out and enshrine it as my "first"...since there's undoubtedly going to be more, or should I just leave it/ignore it? On the other hand, I'm very excited about the fact that it's WHITE, not GREY or SILVER. Yay! I've inherited the Long Family white hair! ...Although, Grandma Mimi Ross had premature white hair by the time she was thirty (which is also sorta cool)...I wouldn't mind that! Dude, white hair is cool. Well, okay, for me at least.

School is okay, am surviving. It's probably due to the beneficial nature of all my enviro sci classes: without them, I'd be stark raving mad. Not that I'm not already, I'm just discounting that particular thought. =D

Am massively tired. On wednesday, I had a sorority event (screw your sis) where everyone gets "hooked up" with essentially a blind date, and we all go have a party together. That was fun. My date was cute...though rather young! Kim accused me of being a pedophile, haha, because he was only 18...and I'm only 21...and I have a white hair! Make me feel old, people...thanks a LOT.

Last night, I went to the theta Chi Red Carnation Dinner with Jessica Veffer, Totran, and Sarah VDR. Drank shitloads of champaigne--the good flavored stuff. Had Peach, blackberry, strawberry and regular wine too. Dinner was catered from C&O's Trattoria---yum! Totran got really drunk (haha, pretty easy for her to do, she's a lightweight) and decided to go to the "W" or the whiskey blue down at the end of Hilgard. Was very nice, ambient atmosphere--very asian/turkish decor. The couches were excessively comfy, though low to the ground. I finally had to detach her lips forcibly from the guy she was making out with (that my other little Karen had made out with the night before at the screw your sis) and shovel her into the car that Jess was nice enough to pick us up in at like 1230 or so at night. Huzzah for people who pick other people up so they don't have to walk up the Hilgard hill~!! I've no idea if she actually was hungover this morning, since I had early class, and I know Toes probably had work...which is kinda the excuse that I used to get her to go home last night, since she kept wanting to stay "a little longer"---haha! And make out with the dude...I was talking to his friend Ben (a senior) while she made out with the other guy, whom I never really concretely nailed down the name of... Oh well, no loss! Hahaha!

Today, I'm just tired. I think I'm going to do some reading and starbucks-drinking tonight, maybe some Hitchhiker's guide if I can convince Julie (and get in to see it...). Wish me luck, and now, time for a nap!

A GORGEOUS weekend in SB (mostly)

Ahhhhhhhhh. Just got home from a Soccer tournament for all the greeks in SoCal up in Santa Barbara. We drove up early friday night (the scenic route along malibu) with Sharna, Caitlin, Lauren Ershoff and I at about 6pm. No traffic, and it turned out to be a very nice drive, though it was windy and rather cold wind blowing. Stopped at Baja Fresh for dinner, but they didn't have any magnets that I could collect for Jules.

We all stayed at the AEPhi chapter house up there---what a bunch of absolutely lovely ladies!! We ended up playing DG SB and then AEPhi SB on saturday---Back to back, since the guys from AEPi running things fucked up the game schedule. Arrrr. We were supposed to have a game at 11 and another at 3pm. Bleh! After our last game (2 20-min periods to each game)and fast showers at the House up there, we went to Christine's house for a LOVELY dinner--her mom's an excellent cook...yum yum for pasta and fresh french bread! Then, back to the house for a long nap, and makeup putting on and then about an hour or so walking around, trying to find a party and freezing the fucking asses off....

Then, back home this morning at like 9am-ish (way too early) on the road. Ah well. Dropped off crap *(three types of items: stuff, crap, and shit) at the house, and off Irina, Irina and Lauren E. and your's truly went for sushi for lonche. Brought home a doggie box, since couldn't finish... Who knew that a bagel and venti mocha frap from starbucks would fill you up so much? Yikes, hehehheheh.

Just took a shower. Shaved legs are the best feeling ever, since the muscles hurt so much. Less friction for the damned appendages of mine. Screw 'em.

Anywhoo, will get some HW accomplished today. And relax a bit, maybe some gymin' it, since that will help with the sore muscle-ness. Yeah. That is all.

Life is good, Inertia, BETTER.

Have spent the morning:

1. Rousted out of bed at 906am (boo, it's VACATION, you fiends!), no food, no tea, get dressed, then am told to wait while Juliana takes a shower before taking a walk to starbucks. Grrr. And she wonders why I wasn't quite awake. I LIKE my morning routine, thank you!

2. Walking over to the local Starbucks at the Block for some cold caffinated goodness with my sister, then wandering around, window shopping at aforesaid Block, stopping by the Borders, and FINALLY spending most of my gift certificate ($10) from Auntie Kate. Walked home, man it is HOT around here.

3. Harranging Mom about how to work her new scanner and how to edit and title things in Adobe photoshop. Sincerely wish to kill self after this rather arduous endeavor. Euuuurg! I swear, getting mom to use a computer correctly is like beating your head against a rock. Which is why, at about 4pm, I'm now having a glass of wine. Can't cope with the idiocy. I notice Juliana didn't even say a peep the whole time Mum and I were struggling. Grrrarrrrr!

Dad came home, and popped Mort in a tub of water. We just took him out of hibernation yesterday--cleaned out his house and all. Speaking of his house, it's getting rather pathetic looking--I think it either needs replacing or else it REALLY needs some sanding and painting. Hmmm, will try to avoid being the one delegated to do the sanding and painting.

Spent my 21st Birthday...not doing much. Took my last final, popped out my wine, and had a sit, eating crackers cheese and wine. Ha ha ha ha! Then, went back to the house, lil' sis Toes and I then headed off to the "new" Wooden Center Gym--for the first time ever. Marvelous! Will definitely be going again, weight machines are fun. Guys staring at you every time you walk by, not so fun....unless they're hot, of course. Huzzah! Mom then came and picked me up (I drove home), and I went to bed. The real party started over the weekend when we went to Catalina...

Man, we had so much booze on that boat, I'm surprised we didn't list to one side, ha ha ha! Danielle and I were the only ones really drinking though. Ha, Dad bought us all a beer before he left on friday night. (May was tipsy from this.) Saturday, we wandered in to town, and I bought my first legal alcohol: some JD's hard Lemonaide. Yum! (I've still got one left, nobody polished off both four-packs.) May thought it was funny that the General Store sign said "BOOZE" in big letters, rather than "liquor" or "alcohol"--but c'mon, no sailor worth their salt would call it anything OTHER than BOOZE. Thus, the INGENIOUS sign...(sarcasm) Then, back to the boat for a LONG nap (for everyone else except Blake and I) complete with lots of snoring--a snoring chorus, if you will (haha)--- and then happy hour with munchies and BOOZE... Later, we played spoons and had more booze--sky "berry" with seven-up is good stuff. And then, finally, off to bed we went. Next morning Jules rousted us out of bed, and we set off at about 9am (very early on the boat) for home---motoring the entire way, since there was really NO wind. BLEARG. We didn't get burnt that time though, since we all slathered on the sunblock. *sips wine* Took us 7.5 hours, because of the lack of good wind. We all just sat and read our smut books, haha ha! We all concluded that the bloody mary mix was to awful to stomach, so no real boozing it up on the ride back.

The rest of this week has been rather uneventful--Jules and I wussed out on going to the tibetan nun concert we'd been talking about up at the skirbal last night, so mum and I went and saw Robots instead. Cute movie, wasn't the most original plot, but very creative visuals. Fun to watch for an hour or so, at least.

Hmmm. Life is good. Inertia is better. Time to go fiddle around and do nothing in particular. Toodles!
