To sanity, or NOT to sanity....
Just took my spanish prueba. Was much better than last time, I think, despite the sheer amount of material that was potentially put on the exam. I, however, predicted rightly that there would be poetry! Go me! And, of course, another question on libros de picaro---which was awesome, since I know them so well after taking that class with Johnson (the prof) last year...That awful, torturous class...that saved my ass on the quiz. Whooo!
In other news, I am once again the self-styled woman without a life. Not only do I have research and projects to do, but meetings, rallies/bonfires, and other numerous and assorted/sundry things to do. When, oh life, did you become so entirely bent on my insanity? Oh, and we won't mention the violin practice I've got to slip in, the garden-day planning, the shopping for a secret santa with the roomies, and other crazy things. Oh, and tomorrow night is the critical mass. Hmmmm. I hope it's not too cold--maybe I'll wear lots of layers. Yeee.
Hmm. I think I need to start thinking about christmas cards. And stuff to add to the Christmas letter. And solstice celebrations...and jobs...
Now you see why my sanity is in question? So many things to remember. Thank goodness I'm mostly caught up with my spanish reading. Whooooeeeee.
Sunday is stone canyon creek restoration day. As well as Get-shit-(aka:reading)-done-day. Saturday is garden (or dirt-bagging day according to dad) stuff and then farmer's market and LACMA. That should be fun! I can't wait to see the Rene Magritte exhibit. You know, the one where the dude painted a picture of a pipe and wrote "nes'ce pas un pipe" under it---modern pop art; ah, thy beginnings! Am such an art nerd, but hey, what can I say---AP art in High school does that to you. Ty-bay will be my partner in crime for that one, since we're art tyrants together, haha.
No real news from the home front. 'Course, I haven't really checked my email. I've been hibernating/marinating in my hole/sauce of "tengo una prueba este semana"-ness. Also known as anti-social studying mode, do Not disturb unless you wish something bitten off and chewed up by me. Last night, however, I emerged long enough to throw together a batch of "what've-we-got-in-the-fridge?" spagetti and toppings that consisted of carmelized onions, my two chopped up (tiny) home grown tomatoes, and slices of apple browned in the skillet, plus vegetarian tomato sauce. Yum! The apples made it sweet, and it was really good. I ate so much, however, that I'm still pooping that stuff out. I usually don't eat that much, so yeah...not so good. Who knew that pasta gave you gas, since I really didn't eat much for breakfast! haha, at this point, everyone who's reading is saying "TMI, lainey." haha, you poor things you. I suppose I should eat with more regularity, but it's hard because of my class schedule.
That's what happens when the world conspires against your sanity. I'm sure Hamlet would have a load to say on that one!
