Why you should wear Homer Simpson slippers...aka: life at the Coop moochin' off the internet

Am lurking at the Co-op tonight--tomorrow it's off to find a job, find mom a wind up toy, and maybe make a pilgrimage to Little Tokyo. IF I have the time. Oh, and a visit to the neurologist to confirm that yes, in fact, TyBay IS crazy.

Well, okay, not crazy. Just to find out what's going on with the fucked up machine that is her cerebral peception system. Wheee.

On another note, if you have never been to the coop at UCLA, the store is AWESOME. They sell everything for ridiculously low prices, and are open from 7-11pm. SWEET. They have fruit roll-ups! Dude, that really takes me back to the day when I'd beg pieces off of my friends who would get it in their lunches...but I'd never get any. No, just a Mustard and Bologna sandwich and some healthy thing, like carrots or something. Blech. In the world hierarchy of cool lunches, I was the floor under the gladiators feet, never the one with a commodity to fight the good fight (aka: trade for other cool things). I remember once though when I was packing my own lunches (junior high I think it was) that I actually was a sneaky little bugger and packed two pieces of cake! Haha, cool. Of course, then we'd grown out of trading for better stuff, so I think I just ended up giving it away, since it was really sugary and I didn't really want to eat TWO pieces.

Just goes to show, things aren't always as cool when you get older. Fruit by the foot/fruit roll-ups are ALWAYS cool though.

Pish, enough with the nostalgia. Found the funniest thing ever when goofing off, reading the top of my mango tazo tea: go to www.tazo.com and click "consult the tea leaves"----hint: if you're born in the 80's, your age at birth is ARIES. Mine said, "A distant relative will have something to ask you." Haha.

I think, however that the best part of the last year and a half was discovering that TyBay (yes, my homie from fuhs)is going to UCLA too. Yay for adventures at art museums, tea in venice, toy store lurking in Santa Monica, and shopping sprees in Little Tokyo! Having an intelligent friend to talk to, watch jane austen movies with (and rewind the juicy parts), drag to museums and other random places is so GREAT. That and, y'know, keeping me company in the emergency room when I'm an idiot and break my face...always good to have a friend who understands that sympathy is for wussies (thinking positively about the future or laughing at yourself is better) and the best words to hear are not "It'll be okay" but are instead, "Look! It's my favorite face-plant!!" Ahahahah!!!

In recent news, my friend Tyler has discovered the awesomeness that is Facebook. I swear, I'm so addicted to that site. It's nice to keep up with my friends via it, but I still like to write letters--getting REAL mail is just so cool, yes? I know I love it.

TyBay is reading Emma. I can't decide whether I should join her (with my own copy of emma) or work on my christmas present for Mr. Knowles. I think maybe I'll go and work on that when I'm done with this. Either that or my knitting...or maybe I'll get some more fruit-by-the-foot. Yum! And of course, admire Phil's homer slippers on the way over there...isn't life at the co-op great?

Alright, that's it, off I go!
