Idiocy. Complete and utter idiocy.

Am intensely frustrated with the sheer rudeness of some of the Alums for my sorority. One girl, in particular, is causing a lot of problems. I'm extremely angry with her, so here goes my rant:

FIRST of all, the bitch is alum. We have a rule (heck, a national policy) that alums are not allowed to live in the house after they have graduated from the house. Well I got overruled in that regard--I got "told" that she would be allowed to live in this year and was forced to give her a room assignment and roommate. Rooming assignment aside, the responsibility for THAT Minefield will go to our president....now the stupid bitch wants parking in the back lot.

She needs to understand, rooming exceptions are one thing. Parking is a whole other ballgame. It is regulated by the House Mom and House corporation (so, the House Director, maureen) and NOT subject to the authority of any of the girls in the sorority. The president DOES NOT HAVE A SAY IN PARKING ISSUES. That said, the president just called me AGAIN and tried to "tell" me that the back parking situation will remain the same just so this girl will not be upset and will get the parking spot that she wants.

Wow, can anyone say favoritism? Number one, the girl is not a sorority member. She is not active. She is ALUM. And, she is a boarder, not a sorority member entitled to residency, and therefore has no actual say in how the house is run, irrespective of the influence that she may have on the president. Because of liability issues and LAWS, she will probably have to sign a separate rental agreement. This ain't just me trying to cause problems, okay? Both the house Mom and I have had to deal with all sorts of parking snafu's this last year, and we want all that to be avoided in the years ahead.

Just because she can pick up the phone and whine and bitch to the president on this one, I am not going to cave on the issue of who is in charge of parking. She has no actual points and has less priority in the house since she is BEYOND that, as an alum, and the sorority's priorities should be focused on its ACTIVE members.

I'm seriously ticked about this. She's not going to win this one, and my authority is NOT going to be encroached upon again. I'm sorry, does the president understand that we could be paying EXTRA in liability and insurance costs because of this girl living in the house and getting a parking spot? Maybe we should make the president pay for it, hmm? I bet she wouldn't appreciate that much.

Which is why it pisses me off so much when people railroad over me. They just don't understand there's a REASON why I say the shit I do--usually a REALLY GOOD reason. At least the House Director and Mom are behind me on this one. I sent an email off to the advisor about it as well.

Oh, and you want to see a copy of the email that the little bitch had the temerity to send me? Here it is:

I was told that I was getting a single and that is why I agreed to this. I have a small car a Honda Civic 2000. If I do not get the single spot, I am going to take my parking from flem because I do not want to deal with moving my car each time some one needs to get in and out. So if there are no longer single spots I will not be parking the back. Therefore you will need to find a spot for flem to park her car. We made these arrangements last quarter when things were supposedly finalized. Therefore, this is neither of our faults and bad planning on your part and we should not have to suffer. So you will need to find a spot for her and maybe consider not having a bike rack since nobody rides a bike.

Hey SoMeOnE~
There is no single. Parking will be done according to points and car size.
If you have a compact car, all will be well. Otherwise, we'll have to see,
since those spots are hard to park in and very small (we had a lot of
parking problems last year, so we're changing the assignment
policy/process for this year). Please send me back the make, model,
license plate/general info for your car and your phone number so I can
start assigning people with no problems ASAP!! Thanks so much~
LML,
'Lainey

PS: that spot may just be made into one parking space and some
bike/motorbike parking on the side because it's so small.

Hmmm, bitch anyone? I certainly thought so. AND I just had to write an email to our president to try to resolve the issue after she called lea and bitched to her (favoritism, anyone?) so here THAT goes:

Hello President~

I know that issues like these may cause problems with you, but unfortunately, on this account, you and I have no authority over the parking situation in the back parking lot. I have already spoken to Maureen and informed our advisor about the liability issues that may arise having a boarder in the house.

As an alum, according to national policy, SOMEONE is really not allowed to live in the house at all in order to avoid having to pay extra liability and insurance costs, as well as having a separate rental agreement for her to sign. I understand that our financial situation is dire, so it may be entirely necessary for her to live in, however, she is not guaranteed parking just because she is granted tenancy in the house. Also, please understand that since she is not technically an active, she does not retain active points because of her alumni status. Yes, she was assigned a room based on her past points, but these may or may not be applied by the housing corporation authorities when granting parking agreements.

As the situation stands now, if she continues her behavior by demanding your authority rule in her favor above the rental and tenancy authority of the House corporation, she may be asked to find parking or tenancy elsewhere...it all depends on the regulations of the Corporation, which I have asked Maureen to find out about for me.

Parking is an entirely separate agreement with the housing corporation, and as such is not under our authority, except the assignment of spots and their approval by the House Mom under the authority of the House Director.

I completely understand your authority to overrule me, however, on the issue of parking there is no overruling the House Corporation. The House Corporation is not subject to the sorority's authority at all. I have had several talks with Charmaine as the representative of the House Corporation and have mentioned already to Maureen about issues that have occurred in the back parking lot with damaged cars, etc., and in her authority as House Mom, Charmaine helped me write out a parking agreement that she felt was fair to the girls. Maureen approved and agreed with this, because it would save a lot of time and problems with the girls parking issues throughout the year.

Part of that parking agreement was a decision that parking would be assigned on the basis of car size and points. I wasn't just spouting that off, it really was. I'll attach a copy of the Parking agreement so you can read.

Please give me a few days for the advisor and Maureen to get in contact with me, and I will immediately inform you how the parking situation will be resolved. As of the present, I would rather not have to deal with parking squabbles, and my solution, proposed to Charmaine and Maureen, is that both single spaces go to House Mom and Cook to eliminate any hard feelings the girls may have, and avoid further issues with the "single" spots in the back parking lot. I have a feeling that this is probably what will happen.

Since lisa has chosen to write me back in a rather abrupt manner, please let her know, since she has chosen you to complain to and not me, that we will try to resolve the situation, but she still may be out of luck on the spot she wants; it is at the discretion of the House Mom who really gets what spot, especially if there might be problems. As I have it worked out now, she would have the outside spot in the first parking lane nearest Charmaine's apartment.
Like so:
(back of lot)
Marchlewicz Christine?/me
Spino Corso
Brownstein Lox
Hirata Ershoff
(corner of charmaine's)
Charmaine
Cook
(steps)
If she is still upset on this issue, please have her call me or call and talk to Maureen after a couple of days. As I said, we need to be properly informed as to the entire business.
Thank you for contacting me so promptly on this issue. I will be forwarding this email to Charmaine and Erin.
LML,
Elaine

PS: please also inform lisa that parking arrangements are NOT finalized until the end of the summer before the school year ends, because of problems and people changing their minds, etc. I'm Really sorry she was misinformed as to that fact, and she seems rather brassed off at me for that fact.

A nice, noncommittal reply, right? I was trying not to be rude to her.

Just a thought, SOMEONE, when you're going to be rude at the outset, try not to forward people the emails, it just makes you look like a solid bitch. A solid, RUDE bitch. Be more careful about what you write, it can come back to bite you in the butt.

Oh, and president needs to butt out. I'm not the one causing problems, SOMEONE is by being rude in the first place. Butt out, let me do my job. I'm not power tripping, I'm trying to make sure there aren't FURTHER problems during the year. Because there will be if SOMEONE is treated like a princess. Sorry chica, but you're not the priority of the house. We love you as an Alum, but not enought to bend over backwards and get fucked up the ass. The House Corporation and House is a BUSINESS--and you may or may not fit into its agenda.

I especially love the email that President sent regarding my position and authority.

Hey honey, by the way, I have just as much authority as you do to the housing director! I'm supposed to report to her. DIRECTLY. And the House Mom. DIRECTLY.

Butt out, bitches.

hahah, LET her try to "deal with it". I dare her to try. Humpf.

..to do..too much...time..so..LITTLE....AIEEEE!

Whew! Am tired, and I hardly did anything!

Well, okay, sorta. Have typed up and sent off the proctoring schedule and "need to know" email to all the sorority sisters. Hmm, we'll see how they respond. I forgot to title it, oh well.

Mom is sick. Ugh. In the summer- the worst time of year, because if you have a fever, it's so hot out that there's no way to get cool.

The best part about today was that I only had a short shift-- 10 am to 245 pm. The bad part was that the time REALLY dragged and that I had to open women's all alone, since Angela (co-worker) has stopped coming in. HUMPF.

Plans proceed on my cute "capelet" design and creation. I so far have drawn concepts of it, made a "paper" version of it to try to figure out the pattern, and will soon start creating my own pattern out of newspaper. Huzzah! Already made myself a cute "peasant" skirt out of black cotton fabric and lace. V. cute.

Ugh, it's bloody hot.

Did I mention that it's hot?

Need to get spray paint, cash jule's check (and pay off sak's card), and paint those wood boards I've got in the garage. Oh, and go to the lumberyard and get more wood for trellis's and the deck outside my room. Also need to round up receipts for Lisa M. (treasurer) about House repairs. Hmm. Where can I buy barbed wire? (for the balcony)

Need to make up housing agreements and parking agreements and packets for move-in. Eurg. Also, need to talk to Jess about getting a job this year. Looks like I'm going to need one. Badly. Negative cash flow is not an option, this time around.

All right--TO THE BREACH!
