Aimless Friday Quibbling

Yet another friday evening with very little to do. Have now finished reading the smutty romance novels I got from the local library (besides studying and working and shite) and have now started in to the meatier stuff---like "the wind done gone". Then I've got some herman melville, arundhati roy, and donald harrington. Good stuff, maybe it will keep me occupied. Honestly, romance novels are so cliched and bad, you can't help but read through them quickly, since they're all the same dribble. Of course, reading them is about the same as a good soap opera on tv, so I'd rather read than watch them. The ones on TV mostly just make me cringe in horror.

Have discovered, however, that I'm fascinated by "Project Runway" despite all the idiotic editing and stuff...really, the designers are quite creative, and it's highly addictive to watch. I miss watching mum's shows with her though. (Don't tell her that, must keep up the facade of hating all of them....) Masterpiece theatre is usually quite good. Grarrr! We don't get the paper daily, so I don't know what's on the telly, and watching the tv guide channel is so annoying.

Hmm. can't decide whether I should shower, watch movie, or go rollerskating. Hmmm.

anywhoo, off I go to a gloriously uncomplicated evening, after a dinner of potatoes and mac'n'cheese. (Dad would cringe in horror, but it's easy and tasty). I think I've regressed to childhood--making up for all the mac'n'cheese I never got!

Alrighty, off I goes, and where I end up, nobody knows!

Creepy elevator behavior is GREAT.

Social Psychology is so much FUN. Today was our section on breaking social norms and social contagion. AKA: Our day to do rude, weird things, and watch as people react to either (a) counter our non-normative behavior, or (b) join in our strange behavior.

hahahahaha!

Fuckin' Hilarious.

Triva, this dude in class and I decided we would talk really loudly in an elevator as our non-normative behavior. We got a really funny range of reactions: either people would get silent really fast and not talk, or they would counter by talking really loudly, or say things like "isn't it really rude to talk really loudly on elevators". ahahahahahaa! DUH, you dipshit broads, that's why we're doing it! People also tried to move away from us (toward the front of the elevator, since we were taking up the whole back wall) and gave us really dirty looks. A lot tried to ignore us and not look at us, looking away and acting like we didn't exist, and then getting off the elevator as fast as possible.

Really, really, really REALLY funny. Ohgod!

In other news, today is contact people about the garden project day. Need to email henry, crystal, and the mucky-mucks in charge. Tomorrow, of course, is check on garden day. Should be good. Wish me luck!

I think I'm going to go over to the local library too, and check out some really awful romance novels to read, instead of spending useless HOURS on my compy when I am finally home. Ah well, must go to work!

Ahhh, I love saturday mornings!

It's a lovely saturday morning here in LA. Supposed to be 79 today. Right now, I'm just grateful that it's cool.

I went to bed really early last night (pre-9pm) and slept until 6:30am-ish today. Finally, I stopped lolling in bed, got up, took a shower, shaved the leggies (whohoo), and then made hot coco, instant cereal, and watered all my plants (and dirt) in front of the apartment with the hose. I have to say that "bananna nut bread" is not my favorite flavor of instant cereal. Bleeeeh. I also cleaned my room made my bed, cleaned my desk, put clean laundry away, put dirty laundry away (sunday is lauuundry daay!)... the whole nine yards.

I guess rooomie went home last night. She came in at about 8:24pm last night, wanting to know if I would "go out into the living room and watch tv for a while"...aka, willingly sexile myself so that she could get some "action" on her bed. Hellllllo? What happened to the "not bringing boys home" agreement? Now that she's finally sexually active, doesn't mean that I'm just going to be a good little virgin and do whatever she wants so she can get her "ration" per week. Hi! Hello? This is my room too!

Haha, so I totally was just about to turn my compy off (within the next five minutes) when she asked me...so I did! I totally was out like a light too. *Snort* Serves her right, what a stupid question. Go have sex or makeout or whatever at HIS place.

Besides, why should he just be able to call you and then drop in unexpectedly (aka, no warning in advance) to get some action? Hm? Call HIM up when YOU need some action (equal opportunity around here!), or something. Being perfectly accomodating like that....it cheapens the whole deal, y'know? You're sort of like some kind of "on call" stripper or whore or "action package." Pleh.

Megan dropped off the gardening stuff yesterday---shovels and stuff. I put them in our front garden area for storage. I've gotta plant some stuff in there. Somehow...

Today I'm off to visit the new house in Ventura with the lil' bro and gavs. Then...we're going to see PIRATES!!! (The new one: Dead Man's Chest). I'm bummed that Jules couldn't come; she has a sinus infection that's REALLY bad, had to get antibiotics and everything. It occurs to me that I should call her and see if she's okay...yeah.

Anyhow, it's getting to be "pick up" time, so I'd better go. More later!
